Square Enix has revealed details of Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge Of The Seven’s post-game content.
The remake of the 1993 RPG, developed by the same that remade Trials Of Mana, will include special boss fights only available once the main story is complete, as well as New Game+ and harder difficulty options.

Seven Heroes Rematch
After finishing the story, players can attempt a rematch against the Seven Heroes, but this time in their original human selves. These bosses are stronger and have new abilities, so it should be a very different fight to the encounters from the main story.
Defeating the Seven Heroes (and fulfilling certain conditions) will allow you to get equipment loot from the seven Heroes. Equipping these special equipment allows party members to glimmer and use them.
Dread Queen Boss Fight
Other than that, there’s another boss fight that can be attempted, the Dread Queen. As the origin of the termites, enemy of all mankind and strong enough to make the Seven Heroes tremble in their heyday, she should be a force to be reckoned with.
The Dread Queen fight can be rechallenged multiple times. And you need to beat her in order to unlock two other difficulty levels.

New Game+ And Higher Difficulty Levels
Once the game is cleared, you can bring over that save file into New Game+. Character stats, equipment, learned abilities and formations can be carried over.
As for the two difficulty levels, they are Expert and Romancing. Expert should be a challenge even on repeated plays. While Romancing demands you to have prepared your best save file and start New Game+ on this difficulty. You can only play in Expert and Romancing difficulties by starting a new playthrough, and if you lower the difficulty mid-way, these cannot be reselected.
For hardcore RPG fans, looks like Romancing SaGa 2 will have plenty of challenges to be overcomed.
Romancing SaGa 2 releases on October 24 for the PS4, PS5, PC (Steam) and Nintendo Switch. A demo is currently available.
