Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge Of The Seven Demo Now Available

Square Enix are still remaking their backlog of RPGs for modern audiences and coming this October is a remake for Romancing SaGa 2.

Titled Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge Of The Seven, this full remake developed by the same team behind the remake for Trials Of Mana now has a demo available on PS4, PS5, PC (Steam) and Switch. No Xbox release for this title, but knowing Square Enix based on their recent announcement, it’ll likely head there eventually.

The demo gives a taste of the game where you play as Emperor Leon and his son Prince Gerard at the start of a multi-generation journey as you lead the empire to face against the fabled Seven Heroes who has reappeared but now turned evil.

The demo ends on the first encounter of one of the Seven Heroes, Kzinssie. Game progress can be transferred to the full game.

Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven, players must build an empire that can defend against the threat of the Seven Heroes. This is a multi-generational story so you will be playing the game not just as Emperor Leon, but his successors. Players are given free reign on making story-impacting decisions, including who gets to inherit the throne.

This is a remake of a 1993 SNES game, and yet the feature set here sounds like a modern RPG with succession mechanics. The new remake will include new content such as new classes, as revealed in the new trailer.

The SaGa RPG series started off in 1989 and since have received multiple entries and a few modern remakes/remasters. The latest entry to the series, SaGa: Emerald Beyond, released back in April this year. Romancing SaGa and SaGa Frontier have received a remaster available on current consoles and PC.

Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven will be out on October 24 for the PS4, PS5, PC (Steam) and Nintendo Switch.
