PlayStation FlexStrike Fight Stick Releasing This August

PlayStation’s first in-house fight stick, the FlexStrike wireless fight stick, now has a release date, including in Southeast Asia. It will launch on August 6, just in time for the release of PlayStation’s upcoming fighting game: Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls.

The PlayStation FlexStrike fight stick retails at a cool RM999 in Malaysia. Pre-orders available at participating retailers begin on June 12.

Based on a new hands-on feature on PlayStation Blog, the FlexStrike has a non-slip grip on the bottom, the eight buttons slightly angled upwards for ergonomics, and for the true FGC heads that honed their prowess back in the arcade days or have experience with fight sticks, the ability to swap between square, circular and octagonal gates for the stick.

This is all done without needing extra tools. That implies the stick itself as removal, which can be store inside the stick itself so it can be packed flat.

The FlexStrike works on PS5 and PC, and can be connected wired or wireless via the included PS Link dongle.

As far as fight stick goes, the FlexStrike is more on the premium side, but the features here, and the included sling carry case, are all well thought-out features, at least on paper. There are cheaper fight sticks available in the market, but this is no baseline fight stick.

Now we wait for PlayStation to make a leverless variant of the FlexStrike for the true keyboard warriors that prefer motion inputs as key presses rather that stick wiggling.
