The roster of characters for the upcoming fighting game Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls continues to assemble with the latest reveal of two new characters, and the full reveal of the third four-character team of five.
The Hulk and Black Panther will join previously revealed Captain America and Iron Man as part of the Fighting Avengers.
Hulk in Marvel Tōkon has more of a savage look with the dinosaur bone and leather armour adorned on him, due to story reasons. He’s exiled in that one stage where dinosaurs are seen roaming, Savage Land. Don’t expect this Hulk to be very buddy-buddy with Cap and Iron Man.
Wearing the Black Panther mantle in Marvel Tōkon is Shuri, who just inherited the role.
Gameplay-wise, Hulk has a unique resource meter, the Gamma Gauge, which when maxed out will have him enter Gamma Rage. Normal Hulk is already oppressive with his big smashes and front dashes, now imagine him being faster and stronger with Gamma Rage engages.
Meanwhile, Black Panther is quick, agile with a hit-and-run fighting style. Perfect for technical players who love a good mixup-driven playstyle that keeps opponents guessing.
Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls has now revealed 14 characters of the initial 20 characters on launch. The team with Ghost Rider and Dr. Doom as leaders will have three new fighters each. These official teams are canon to the single-player story mode, but players can freely assemble their own team of four characters, each with supposedly a unique team name.
Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls is set to release on August 6 on PS5 and PC (Steam).
