It’s cool to see after the indie hit Vampire Survivors pioneered the reverse bullet hell genre, more games are following that template.
And that’s the case with Game Smithing Limited’s new game Soulstone Survivors. It prefers to be described as a “horde survival” game (fair enough).
Soulstone Survivors has you play as a Void Hunter, which can be one of 14 selectable characters, each with unique abilities and traits. You can wield one of 20 weapons and from there, unlock skills (140 unique ones are available) to continue mowing down hordes of enemies in the blink of an eye by just moving around as if they are moving tall grass that needs mowing.
The Early Access launch includes meta-progression, a skill tree, runes and even curses to equip on each run.
Soulstone Survivors will continue to receive updates, the roadmap even details what’s new with the Early Access release compared to the free prologue released as a demo in the past, and what’s the target amount of content for the full release. It’s quite extensive.
If you have a Vampire Survivors-like itch, this Vampire Survivors-like game should scratch that. Soulstone Survivors is now available on PC via Steam Early Access.
