Red Dead Online, the multiplayer component for Red Dead Redemption 2, is now available to be purchased separately.
As previously revealed, the standalone release is offering a limited-time price discount. Right now it’s RM20 for the PS4, PC (Steam, Rockstar Games Launcher) and its regional equivalent of $5 USD on Xbox and Epic Games Store.
This is just the multiplayer component, you can buy the Story Mode later if you want. But for those curious on what GTA Online but American West frontier plays like, now’s a good time to bite that bullet, for a decent price.
Alongside the standalone release is Outlaw Pass No.4 (the game’s battle pass), and new content for Bounty Hunter roles. Here’s a selection of what’s new to Red Dead Online this week:
- New Legendary Bounty: Bank robber Gene “Beau” Finley has been seen around Bayou Nwa and he’s the first of several new Legendary Bounties for Prestigious Bounty Hunters to pursue
- The Prestigious Bounty Hunter License is now available at for purchase at any Bounty Board by any Bounty Hunter, featuring 10 Ranks with new high-level items, skills, weapon variants and horses, along with new Infamous Bounty Targets
- The Outlaw Pass No. 4: New outfits, a new satchel, skill pamphlets, emotes, camp upgrades, advanced photography enhancements, bonus cash and 30 Gold Bars, and more
- A 10 Gold Bar rebate and RDO$400 for all players who purchase the Outlaw Pass No. 4 this week
- Bounty Hunting Discounts: 5 Gold Bars off the Bounty Hunter License for newcomers to the Role, plus 40% off Bounty Hunteritems up to Rank 20 for all Bounty Hunters
- New Mustangs and Missouri Fox Trotters are now available at local Stables
- Gameplay Improvements: Ability to combine stubble with beard styles, the Advanced Camera is now usable on horseback, and Gunspinning Management option for Gunspinning tricks learned by Bounty Hunters
- Log-in Rewards: 2,000 Club XP and 2,000 Bounty Hunter XP, plus players that are Rank 5 or above will receive a Treasure Map, and those Rank 10 or above will get a free Ability Card Upgrade
- Increased RDO$ and XP for all Posse members on Free Roam Missions, Bounty Missions, and Free Roam Events through December 7th
- Double XP in all Bounty Hunter missions and A Land of Opportunities missions, plus completing the latter’s “Kill Them, Each and Every One” and “Destroyed by Grief” missions will net players a bonus RDO$100 for each
- The latest discounts: 40% off all Tents, Camp Themes, Camp Dogs, the Fast Travel Post, and Outfits including Role Outfits, plus 30% off all Horses, Stable Slots, Repeaters, Pistols, the Schofield Revolver, Saddles and Improved Saddles, Vests, and Coats (except Legendary Animal clothing)
- Top community entries from The Naturalist Photo Challenge are now available as free Camp Flags, Moonshine Bar Photos and Photo Studio Backgrounds via the Wheeler, Rawson & Co. Club
- New Prime Gaming Benefits: A free Bounty Hunter License and an Award for the Trimmed Amethyst Bounty Wagon Livery for all players who connect their Social Club accounts to Prime Gaming
- Ongoing Prime Gaming Benefits: Players who connect to Prime Gaming before December 21st will receive a Reward for a free Breton Horse and RDO$100
