Raceroom Asia Adds The Winding Roads Of Genting Highlands

Sim racer fans in Malaysia, get a load of this. Raceroom Asia has announced that they have added a new track to their sim racing game, and it’s none other than the winding roads that go to Genting Highlands.

For the uninitiated, Genting Highlands is one of the few towns in Peninsula Malaysia located high up enough that the temperature goes down the 20 degrees Celcius mark- which is a huge difference compared to most parts of the tropical country that’s located on the equatorial line. To get there up there, you’ll need to drive through a tight, winding set of roads, similar to a touge road.

Well, it used to be like that. From the footage of the track shared by Raceroom Asia, the Genting Highlands track is a bit wide and fast, and it covers the resort area as well judging by the parked buses that can be seen after the uphill climb ends.

What’s there in Genting Highlands? Well, there is a whole theme park and resort suite over there. Plenty of events, including the recent Great Pirate Adventure event held early this month, are held there. Also, the only place in the country with a casino.

While Raceroom is available now on Steam, the Genting Highlands track isn’t out yet for everyone just yet. Raceroom Asia is offering the track to folks who go to the RaceRoom Racing Experience location in Ara Damansara, Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia. The RM30 per session fee gets you access to a full-motion sim (where the seat also provides feedback).

So for those unable to reach Raceroom Racing Experience, well, let’s just wait until they do release it for the public, which is expected to be sometime later this year.
