Quick E3 2017 Recap: What Devolver Digital Jokingly Has Shown

So.. if you didn’t see Devolver’s E3 “Press Conference” you missed one of the most weirdest and best joke conference I have ever seen. It was a mix of late TV show humor engulfed with something I couldn’t even say.

They did deliver.

Jokes aside, they showcase two (or three) games that ARE coming in 2017. Ruiner, Serious Sam Bogus Detour and NOT working a project with eccentric developer, Suda 51.

Ruiner is an isometric “brutal action” shooter inspired by cult cyberpunk anime (presumably the likes of Akira and the original Ghost in The Shell) , with players able to use various kinds of weapon and abilities to assimilate foes. Devolver has been teasing this game for a good few months, posting gameplay in gif forms, which is quite a unique way of promoting things.

Next we have Serious Sam Bogus Detour, an all-new action-adventure in the series from developer Crackshell. It’s also a isometric shooter but with 4 player co-op action, you can gun down waves upon waves of enemies like their 3D counterpart.  There’s even 12 player deathmatch or survival if that’s your thing and even full mod support with a game editor built in. So looking good for this one.

And finally we come towards the unnamed project between the Devolver team and Suda51 (which may or may not happen). Nothing much is known besides what we already know but looking at the last title that Suda and his team made with help from Sony, We hope to see what Grasshopper Manufacture do with this level of crazy their partner has. IF IT’S REAL.

To conclude this recap then, if you plan to watch a conference that really doesn’t take itself seriously. Watch Devolver’s one.

Down Below. It’s maddeningly weird.
