A few days ago, the PlayStation Blog shared the reveal of this month’s free PS Plus games alongside a price hike for 12-months subscriptions of PS Plus in Southeast Asia.
However, there is more bad news. The PS Blog is now updated to include that in Malaysia and Thailand, the price hike will also affect 1-month and 3-month PS Plus subscriptions for all tiers.
Here is the new pricing for PS Plus in Malaysia and Thailand:
- PS Plus Essential
- 1 month: RM 32 | THB 240
- 3 months: RM 75 | THB 560
- 12 months: RM 235 | THB 1,830
- PS Plus Extra
- 1 month: RM 49 | THB 240
- 3 months: RM 125 | THB 920
- 12 months: RM 400 | THB 3,070
- PS Plus Deluxe
- 1 month: RM 55 | THB 420

PS Plus Subscription Price Hike In Malaysia: Before Versus After September 6 2023
This is quite a major price hike. For Malaysia, here’s the comparison of the previous offered price and the new pricing, effective September 6:
- PS Plus Essential
- 1 month: RM 29 -> RM 32
- 3 months: RM 69 -> RM 75
- 12 months: RM 125 -> RM 235
- PS Plus Extra
- 1 month: RM 44 -> RM 49
- 3 months: RM 114 -> RM 125
- 12 months: RM 269 -> RM 400
- PS Plus Deluxe
- 1 month: RM 50 -> RM 55
- 3 months: RM 130 -> RM 145
- 12 months: RM 309 -> RM 460
The rise in subscription price isn’t a surprise, as many other subscription services outside of gaming has started jacking up prices globally.
But price increase for PS Plus subscriptions is noticeably high. The increment on 1-month and 3-months subscriptions may not be as massive as the 1-year subscriptions have gotten, but it does not make it any less painful to see it get bumped still.
