The new PlayStation Plus subscription has begun its rollout today in Asia, in particular Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand.
The new PS Plus adds a Game Pass-style library of games that you can download and play so long as you have an active subscription. The catch is that the library, or catalogue as Sony calls it, is split in two, and is accessible via the two new tiers of subscription added. So PS Plus now has three tiers of subscription.
PS Plus Essential is the current PS Plus service with all the same features (online multiplayer, monthly free games).
PS Plus Extra adds Game Catalog, a library of PS4 and PS5 games you can download and play.
The Game Catalog includes games from Sony’s first-party PlayStation Studios, as well as third-party releases from other publishers.
In particular, all the games from Ubisoft in the Games Catalog are technically part of Ubisoft+ Classics. It appears as a collection on the PS Plus hub on your PlayStation console.

PS Plus Deluxe, which is the one for countries without cloud game streaming services (in countries that do, this tier is named PS Plus Premium) adds access to another different catalogue, the Classics Catalog.
This adds includes PS1 Emulation and PSP Emulation games- PS1 games ported to PS4 and PS5 via emulation which also adds a bunch of systems-level quality of life options and even trophies for supported games, as well as remasters of PS3 (and older) games.

PS Plus Deluxe also gets access to Game Trials, full game demos gated by a time limit for new releases.
In addition, if you have a PS5, all PS Plus subscribers can still access the PlayStation Plus Collection, the game list remains with the exception of Persona 5 which was recently removed.
As you can see from the long lists for the Game Catalog and Classics Catalog we pulled from the official PS Plus site, the list of available games in the two libraries is quite massive. The Classics Catalog is still mostly bolstered from recent remasters, however, but there are definitely more emulated PS1 and PSP games coming for sure. Games like Abe’s Oddysee and Toy Story 2 were not listed in the initial list, so expect more surprises.
Existing PS Plus subscribers can upgrade their current subscription (Essential) to the Extra or Deluxe tiers. You cannot just upgrade for a specified period like 1 month if you are an existing subscriber. But the upgrade price is adjusted based on your current subscription length, so you’re paying less than the listed price of the subscription.
PS Plus Essential costs RM159 per year in Malaysia, whilst PS Plus Extra is RM269 and PS Plus Deluxe at RM309.
