Planet Zoo, Frontier Developments’ next park builder/management sim, has a beta and is now live. Though it’s limited to those who pre-order the Deluxe Edition of the game.
For those that do, the beta gives access to the Career mode, where the game walks you through what is essentially a tutorial on how to manage and expand the zoo, including building habitats and bringing in animals.
Similar to Planet Coaster, it will have Bronze, Silver and Gold objectives to achieve. But like more recent Frontier games (or the Planet Coaster Ghostbusters DLC), there’s a narrative woven in. You’ll get access to the Temperate Biome in Career Mode.
The beta also includes a taste of Franchise mode. It’s basically the sandbox mode where you build the zoo to your liking and the sim (and economy) aspect of the sim goes full gear. You get to build in the Savannah Biome here. Also, online features are enabled in this mode where you get to interact with the game’s community, including a Community Goal to achieve- of which is to be revealed soon.
The beta runs from September 24th to October 8th. Planet Zoo will be out in full on November 5th for the PC (Steam).
