Developer Antistatic Studios is currently conducting a playtest for its upcoming co-op shooter Phantom Line.
Phantom Line sees you play as the Operator, part of an elite squad that deals with anomalies and employed by a megacorporation. You also don’t have a permanent body, as the Operator can posses bodies, H.U.S.K.s, to do your bidding. The team must’ve been playing Warframe.
The co-op shooter, playable solo or up to four players, will see you investigating the open world of a post-nuclear European continent filled with paranormal creatures, anomalies, needed to be taken down. The team must’ve been playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
Speaking of the team, Game Developer reports Antistatic Games as a new team comprised of industry veterans with experience making games like Cyberpunk 2077, Project Winter, and Bioshock. And apparently, Antstatic has made its interest in making immersive sims.
Phantom Line will feature character customisation and a base of operations. And a lot of lore. An attached press release we received includes an “in-lore report” of the playtest, complete with all-capitalisations and redacted black bars.
Phantom Line is hosting a playtest, but getting a key to access this will require one to join the game’s Discord server here. The game’s currently in pre-alpha.
Phantom Line has no release date yet but it’s coming to PC (Steam).
