Capcom has once again updated the demo for Onimusha: Way Of The Sword. But unlike previously, this time it is done so for content reasons.
The new Onimusha game’s demo will now feature a new area to explore: Oni Refuge. Here, you can confront a new boss: Daidara.
You now have a reason to redownload the Onimusha: Way Of The Sword demo, if you really want to get a better feel of its refreshing take on swordplay combat.
The demo is also now available on Xbox and Switch 2.
This was revealed ahead of Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026, during the pre-show. There’s also another new trailer, the sixth one for those keeping count, featuring the Genma siblings Ifuu and Burai (fight two bosses at the same time!) as well as a first look at protagonist Musashi’s Oni Awakening form (don’t call it a Devil Trigger, though.)
Onimusha: Way Of The Sword will see the return of the long-dormant series about samurais (and Jean Reno) facing demonic threats. Earlier iterations of the game has the fixed camera perspective seen in early survival horror games.
