Nintendo Switch Sales Close To 20 Million Units

More accurately, 19.67 million

Nintendo has unveiled its lifelong sales numbers for all of its hardware and software lineup in a recent financial report. The numbers look positive as is- it has far eclipsed the troubled Wii U.

However, slow sales have made investors worry. The last quarter of the financial year -between April and June 2018- only 1.88 million Switch were sold. Nintendo is targeting to sell 20 million Switches within April 2018 to March 2019, which is a big ask when sales are slowing. In comparison, 2.93 million and 7.23 million units sold were reported in the previous two quarters.

Nintendo analyst, Jefferies’ Atul Goyal said as reported by Business Insider: “Market expectations for Switch, as reflected in stock price, have turned from robust growth to no-growth in a matter of three months.”

There is some worry within the stock market right now, but nothing dire.

Nintendo Switch’s current official sales number as of June 30th 2018 is 19.67 million, with software sales now at 89.93 million units.

Super Mario Odyssey leads in the best-selling Nintendo game on Switch at 11.17 million copies sold. This is followed by Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (10.35 million) and Zelda: Breath Of The Wild (9.32 million).
