Sega has revealed a new trailer for Virtua Fighter Crossroads. This trailer revealed a new character, Lionel Rafale.
This new kid can fight, really good. Like most fighting games, the reveal is basically a moveset showcase, and despite the nepobaby status, Lionel is well qualified to dish out a world of hurt on his own, beating up protagonist Cielo.
Sega doesn’t really have any more to add to the announcement other than this trailer. Virtua Fighter Crossroads, unlike some 3D fighters, has the intent to keep things grounded in realism.
Virtua Fighter Crossroads is a new entry to the long-dormant Virtua Fighter series. The series that pioneer graphics realism is taking a different direction in terms of what it offers as a fighting game, as there will be a cinematic Story Mode featuring four protagonists set in the fictional Southeast Asian city of Vilasapara. It has free roam, and players can go do side stories and quests throughout this mode.
The game is developed by RGG Studios, the development team responsible for the Yakuza/Like A Dragon series.
Between Stranger Than Heaven and Virtua Fighter Crossroads, Sega has two heavy hitters of a release with a focus on story.
Virtua Fighter Crossroads still has no release date yet, or confirmed platforms, but it’s releasing some time in 2027.
