New Yakuza: Like A Dragon Shows Off Wacky Mini-Games And An English Dub Of Baka Mitai

A new trailer for Yakuza: Like A Dragon, the English title for Yakuza 7. It’s in full English dub (new for the mainline series since the original Yakuza) and should be a good primer on what to expect in the latest entry.

As you may have known, Yakuza: Like A Dragon has a new protagonist, Ichiban Kasuga. Inspired by video games (in particular, Dragon Quest), he and his party will be on a wild journey in the city of Yokohama.

This journey includes playing darts, attend a shareholder meeting, sit in exams, play baseball and golf, play Virtua Fighter 2 in the arcades, watch a movie at the cinema, ride on bikes with recyclable junk, and probably engage in the melodrama of the criminal underworld. Certainly sounds like a Yakuza game. Its range of mini-games have always been this wacky.

The most important part, however, is that karaoke is returning for Yakuza: Like A Dragon. And yes, the meme song of the year, Baka Mitai is available. The trailer stinger gives a glimpse of the song, which now has an official English dub. The lyrics actually has appeared earlier, in the Yakuza 5 remaster released recently.

Time to report in a “I’m such a mess” moment.

Yakuza: Like A Dragon releases on November 10 for the PS4, PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. It will be available on March 2, 2021 for the PS5. However, the Steam page is still not showing up in Asia regions, for some reason.
