New The Sims 4 Growing Together Expansion Gameplay Trailer Shows How Social Dynamic Works

The next expansion pack for The Sims 4, Growing Together, will see a focus on providing more depth to a Sim’s life journey from birth to eventual passing alongside family and friends.

The latest gameplay trailer showcased the Michaelsons, the hero family of the expansion pack. It shows the household getting a visit from grandpa Sebastian.

While Christopher and Celeste have strong bonds together due to their “close” family dynamic (an option you can put under household relationships), Christopher doesn’t get along with Celeste’s father Sebastian. And this is due to their low social compatibility from different interests. Christopher isn’t a prankster, for example.

But that makes Sebastian able to bond better with his grandson Atlas, who can be seen doing mischief together. Atlas, being the firstborn of the family, is a bit jealous of baby sister Orion hogging all the attention of their parents. The family dynamic between them is set to “difficult”.

The trailer also points out Sebastian’s many milestones in life. From finding his first love, to being out of a job. We also get to see the house, set in the neighborhood of Hopewell Hills in the new San Sequoia region. Look at the bikes being parked outside.

The Sims 4 Growing Together expansion should be the one for players with long-term saves that play through generations of Sims, or for those who frequently do the Legacy Challenge. The new social dynamic and milestone mechanics should make it more rewarding to see a Sim’s life to the end, and ensure they lived a fulfilled one. Or have them suffer, your call.

The Sims 4 Growing Together expansion pack will be out on March 17 for the PS4, PS5, PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, EA App), Mac (Origin), Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
