A new trailer for Doom: The Dark Ages debuted at Wrestlemania 41.
The new sub-3-minute trailer is more of a story and worldbuilder showcase than it is new footage of the first-person shooter, though there are few snippets of the Doom Slayer going hard and blasting medieval demons.
The modern Doom games, starting with Doom (2016) and then Doom Eternal, have this habit of putting the Doom Slayer on a pedestal, rightfully so given how he (and by proxy: you the player) can rip and tear them all. And this new trailer for The Dark Ages show this third entry, the prequel to mentioned games, is continuing the tradition. Doomguy has come a long way.
If you are just here to see guns and gore, well, those are in here too.
Doom: The Dark Ages will see the Doom Slayer wage “medieval war against Hell”. The Dark Ages brings a more medieval aesthetic to the sci-fi hellish landscapes of the world with dragons, giant mechs, and new big guns. One of them at least is the BFG.
The previous deep dive for the game also shows the many new tricks players are able to play with in this evolution of push-forward combat. What if you stand and fight (by parrying and hooking enemies) instead of running around towards them all the time?
Doom: The Dark Ages is launching soon, on May 15 for the PS5, PC (Steam, Microsoft Store, Battle.net) and Xbox Series X|S.
