Mortal Kombat 11 On PC To Remove 30fps Framerate Caps

Mortal Kombat 11 runs at a blistering 60fps during gameplay, for the most parts. Cutscenes, special moves like fatalities, the menus and the Krypt mode are locked to 30fps intentionally. But this hard lock will be removed on PC soon.

The recent patch notes on PC hinted that the developers are looking into removing the caps.

Additionally, on the topic of having the certain parts of the game run with a framerate cap of 30 FPS, we hear you. We’re currently working on providing the option to increase the caps in those areas to 60 FPS. We’ll have more details soon, stay tuned!

Sidenote, there is already mod that removes the 30fps caps right now and the game does indeed look better, should you have the PC powerful enough for it.

That said, having the game officially updated with such options natively is always a nice, welcomed addition.

Mortal Kombat 11 is out now on the PS4, PC (Steam), Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. You can read our review here.
