Metaphor: ReFantazio Sales Pass 1 Million On First Day Of Launch

Metaphor: ReFantazio, the new RPG by Atlus’s Studio Zero is out today. And it’s already sold more than one million copies worldwide, the publisher announced.

The sales count includes digital downloads and shipped physical copies.

The new title from the main talents behind Persona 3,4, and 5 is a fantasy-RPG take on the Persona formula. The Persona series series has cumulatively sold over 22 million copies as of March 2024, with Persona 5 making the bulk of the sales with over 10 million.

It’s a strong start for Metaphor: ReFantazio. It may be a new setting but it has most of the hallmarks of Persona, with some new and significant gameplay changes like the Archetype job system and overworld combat during dungeon crawling.

Metaphor: ReFantazio currently has a prologue demo, which allows players to experience the opening five hours of the game.

Metaphor: ReFantazio is out now on PS4, PS5, PC (Steam) and Xbox Series X|S. Check out our review of the game here.
