Marvel’s Midnight Suns Delayed Again

2K has announced that the upcoming strategy/tactical RPG by Firaxis, Marvel’s Midnight Suns, has been delayed.

When the game was first revealed, it was slated for a March 2022 release. It was then later delayed to October, before this new delay hit.

This second delay now puts Midnight Suns without a concrete date. Though the game will launch “later this fiscal year”, which should mean that it will be out before April 1, 2023, the start of 2K parent company’s Take-Two new fiscal year.

Additionally, the release of Marvel’s Midnight Suns won’t be a simultaneous launch across all platforms anymore. PC and the now-current-gen consoles of PS5 and Xbox Series X|S will be getting it first. The PS4, Xbox One and Switch versions will arrive at a later date.

The statement of the delay attributed to the Midnight Suns development team reads:

“We know fans are looking forward to playing Marvel’s Midnight Suns and we will use this extra time to make sure we are delivering the best possible experience for everyone. Marvel’s Midnight Suns is easily the biggest game we’ve ever made and we’re incredibly appreciative of all the support players have shared with us throughout the years.”

With Midnight Suns and Square Enix’s Forspoken delayed out of October, what seems to be a busy month for big-budget AAA game releases has gotten a bit less crowded. But that makes the year-end of 2022 and early start of 2023 less sparse in big game releases as a result.
