Maid Of Sker Is A First-Person Horror Game Based On Welsh Folklore

Every culture has their own folklore and ghost stories, ripe for a video game. Which is exactly what Wales Interactive is doing with Maid Of Sker.

Maid Of Sker is a new first-person horror game. You may be familiar with the developer’s work on FMV game The Bunker and more recently The Complex. But Maid Of Sker is channeling their earlier efforts in Don’t Knock Twice.

The game has you make a visit to Hotel Sker in 1898, inspired by the tragic folk story of the death of Elisabeth Williams. Use your time wisely to navigate the hotel, and there’s no weapon for combat. Instead, you’ll have to use stealth, and avoid making loud noise, to survive from the haunting AI that will haunt you.

If you enjoy games like Frictional Games’ Anmesia, put this on the radar. The game is written by the writing talent behind Don’t Knock Twice and Soma- a game developed by Frictional.

Maid Of Sker will also includes famous Welsh hymns of Calon Lân (A Pure Heart), Suo-Gân (Welsh Lullaby) and Ar Hyd Y Nos (All Through the Night), sung by Tia Kalmaru. You can hear a glimpse of Suo-Gân in the trailer.

The game can run at 4K on PC, with visual enhancements tailor-made for PS4 Pro and Xbox One X.

Maid Of Sker will be out on PS4, PC (Steam) and Xbox One sometime this June.
