Publisher 2K has released a few more tidbits for the upcoming racer Lego 2K Drive, releasing next week.
Developed by Visual Concepts, the game is confirmed to have split-screen multiplayer on all platforms. On the Nintendo Switch, there’s also Local Play where two Switch consoles can link up together on the same wireless connection.
Lego 2K Drive supports cross-play, including cross-play parties up to six players on PS4, PS5, PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. Note that cross-play doesn’t include Switch.
There is online multiplayer with cross-play matchmaking as well.
However, one thing that won’t be available at launch is the ability to share customisations online with friends and the community. This will be added post-launch, so it’s still coming.
Lego 2K Drive will let you create your own vehicles made up of 1000 available Lego pieces. The pieces used will reflect the vehicles’ stat, in particular the Weight class which is affected by how many bricks you use. Not only that, but it’s confirmed that you can also paint the vehicles (per brick or the whole thing), change horns, change wheels, change driver seat placements, and place stickers.
Any good racing game these days with customisation is offering methods to share their creation online. So it’s good to see this game isn’t trailing far behind in that aspect.
Lego 2K Drive will be out on May 19 for the PS4, PS5, PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch.
