Indie publisher Hooded Horse continues to sign new games under their ever-growing portfolio of strategy games and simulators. And this latest title by Slovakia-based developer CyberStorm fits in the latter with their upcoming title, Junxions.
In Junxions, players can design traffic junctions of varying complexity and see how it can handle traffic. From the humble T-Junction to a huge roundabout with multiple lanes connected via curved exits, Junxions seems to have a robust and comprehensive set of tools for you to design your ideal (or cursed) road junctions.
The game even lets you beautify the roads with roadside decorations and pathways, which is nice.
There is a set of hand-crafted challenges to test if you have what it takes to be a traffic engineer. But the sandbox mode is likely where most players will have the most fun out of.
You can even import real map data to recreate real traffic junctions. The trailer shows the developer team’s home capital of Bratislava imported into the game.
If you ever felt like wanting to be an armchair traffic engineer after suffering through terrible traffic jams (like the many unfortunate commuters who had to go in, out or through Seremban, Malaysia on a daily basis) or wish traffic management in Cities: Skylines becomes a seperate game on its own, Junxions provides that specific experience you’re looking for.
Also, the trailer plays the retrowave song Miami Nights 1984 by Accelerated, a song that also recently added in Forza Horizon 5.
Junxions is set for release in Early Access on PC (Steam) in 2025.
