It’s morbin’ time. The third post-launch DLC for Marvel’s Midnight Suns, The Hunger is out now.
This DLC brings in an OG Midnight Son into Midnight Suns, Morbius. The doctor-turned-bat-like being is the next new recruit to join your party, and he’s also here to continue the vampyre story arc as followed in previous DLCs where Deadpool and Venom joined the Suns.
The stakes are raised up as not only is there a vampyre threat, Hydra is also infusing undead DNA on their troops to create supersoldiers.
Morbius is available to recruit by completing the story mission “Wierd Science”, available in Act One after the mission “Spidermaaaans” and once Spider-Man joins the party. So, around the same time Deadpool is available to recruit.
Morbius interestingly has 11 unique Hero Abilities, 1 more than usual. His playstyle involves applying Bleed and capitalising on enemies with Bleed to deal more damage. After using enough abilities, Morbius enters a “Bloodlust” state where he has Block and causes all of his damaging abilities to apply Bleed. This is where he “morbed all over the place”, we presume.
The “Bloodlust” state is similarly triggered to Captain Marvel but with different buffs applied.
The focus on Bleed is similar to Blade but is applied differently. Blade distributes Bleed with many chain abilities while Morbius is all about dealing single-target damage. So the two could pair well together.
Also, if you spend time and befriend Morbius, that will reduce the number of abilities/cards before he enters Bloodlust (or he gets to “morb out”) from his passive “A Greater Hunger”.
A new Abbey Research project, Laboratory, can also be unlocked with this DLC. This can add a permanent change to a hero’s secondary stat- with a trade-off.
Here’s all the content that is included with The Hunger DLC:
- New Recruitable Hero: Morbius, a living vampire wielding 11 unique Hero Abilities
- New Story Missions: Fight a host of fresh enemy types across challenging new encounters
- New Abbey Upgrade: Laboratory
- 3 Additional Hero Skins, 7 Abbey Outfits, and 2 Swimsuits for Morbius
There’s only one more hero to be added in Marvel’s Midnight Suns, at least in this Season Pass, Storm.
Marvel’s Midnight Suns is out now on PS5, PC (Steam) and Xbox Series X|S, and should still be heading to PS4, Xbox One and Switch. You can check out our review of the game here.
