The second of four planned post-launch DLC for 2K and Firaxis’ strategy RPG Marvel’s Midnight Suns is out now. The Redemption DLC Pack adds Venom as a playable hero.
Venom is a combo of Eddie Brock and an alien symbiote working together as a deadly weapon. Venom appeared in the base game as one of the many villains you encounter in the story campaign, but with this DLC, you can have him switch sides and aid you in this DLC story arc about vampyres (with a “y”), first seen when Deadpool joined the party, threatening New York City.
Unlike Deadpool, Eddie takes off all of his “costume” (the costume here being an alien symbiote that engulfs a person and causes them to have a long tongue) when chilling at the Abbey.
Like all the heroes, there are 10 hero abilities (unique cards) to unlock. Venom has a Ravenous meter unique to him. It starts with a full three-stack of this, and each stack increases his base offence stats. Using an Atttac or Heroic card will use one stack, and on each turn, one stack is refilled. So Venom can deal burst damage in one good turn, but will need some time, three turns to be exact, to recover to his normal overpowered form.
Plus, with Venom, you can also research the Abbey upgrade Whisper Web. This allows you to use Intel to modify general missions, including changing the mission leader (locked character that must be used) or decreasing the difficulty. Plus, the upgrade will also improve the rewards of general missions.

- New Recruitable Hero: Venom, a savage symbiote wielding 10 unique Hero Abilities
- New Story Missions: Continue the fight against the vampyre threat in New York City
- New Abbey Upgrade: Whisper Web
- 3 Additional Hero Skins, 7 Abbey Outfits, and 2 Swimsuits for Venom
Two more planned DLC heroes, included in the Season Pass are Morbius and Storm.
In other news, Marvel’s Midnight Suns creative director Jake Solomon has left Firaxis.
