Feast your eyes on this. One Piece: Grand Gourmet, the new restaurant management game based on the One Piece series by the fabled developers at Kairosoft is out now.
As a rookie staff member of the the second Baratie restaurant, One Piece: Grand Gourmet will see players having to run a restaurant that sails the seas alongside the Straw Hat Crew. Develop new dishes alongside the Straw Hat’s resident chef and ladies man Sanji, customise the interior to how you see fit, and serve food for over 400 characters. Hopefully it’s not just Luffy who’ll eat a serving fit for 400 characters.
The launch trailer for One Piece: Grand Gourmet features a special song by Osaka-born rapper, Koperu.
Not only that, author of One Piece Eiichiro Oda has a special message to celebrate the launch. If you’re unaware of the repertoire Kairosoft has, now you know.
A long time ago, one of my favorite radio hosts was enthusiastically praising Kairosoft. I remember thinking, “Huh, there’s this amazing company out there”. Then sometime after, I saw “Kairosoft” in an ONE PIECE game proposal and literally shouted, “OH, THE KAIROSOFT!?” and here we are now!
Then I heard that the game was ready so I said, “Let me play it!” And was told, “We can’t let you play because it’s the type of game you would get too hooked on. But can you give us a comment?”
Come on!! This game was made by the very same Kairosoft, the company that my favorite radio host spoke so highly of!!
So, it’s a fun game! (I think)

The Japanese developer Kairosoft has been making management games since 1996. The mobile port for Game Dev Story placed them on the map as one of the early success story on mobile devices for premium games, and the team has been making management games based on all sorts of themes, from racing teams to fantasy villages.
One Piece is the second licensed IP based on a manga and anime series that Kairosoft adapted to its brand of management games, the first being Doraemon Dorayaki Shop Story based on Doraemon.
One Piece: Grand Gourmet is out now on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, and will be out on PC (Steam), iOS and Android tomorrow in Asia, on October 23.
