Hitman 3 Now Includes Hitman 1 & 2 Content For Free, Renames To Hitman World Of Assassination

IO Interactive has made a decision to unite all of the Hitman World Of Assassination trilogy under one game.

Starting January 26, Hitman 3 will now be called Hitman World Of Assassination. The base game now includes all the content of Hitman (2016) and Hitman 2.

Precisely, it includes Hitman 3, the Hitman 1 GOTY Access Pass, and Hitman 2 Standard Access Pass.

This is essentially the same as the Hitman Trilogy offered on Xbox Game Pass, but not as a bundle but as a whole game.

If you own Hitman 3, but do not own the other two games, those are now free and are included in your copy of Hitman World Of Assassination.

Hitman 3 allows players to play all the content from Hitman 2016 (or Hitman 1, but there are more Hitman games than just this trilogy) and Hitman 2. Previously, this was done by the game checking if you own either game, which the game will then provide you with the associated DLC. You can also purchase the DLCs.

But as part of the upcoming Freelancer Mode, IOI is saving some headaches by having every Hitman 3 player access to the same base game content- which includes 21 maps. That new mode, coming as a free update, turns Hitman into a roguelike-ish, featuring missions using all the locations you own.

However, Hitman World Of Assassination isn’t the complete edition of Hitman. There is a new Deluxe Pack DLC that includes the Hitman 3 Deluxe Pack, the Hitman 3 Seven Deadly Sins Collection and Hitman 2 Expansion Access Pass. 2 locations are locked behind this purchase.

If you’re on Steam, you can get the Deluxe Pack for cheaper via Steam’s Complete The Set feature. So you only pay for the DLC you don’t own.

On the platforms, each of the DLC packs is priced at $10 USD.

Hitman 2016 and Hitman 2 will be delisted, but you can still play them if you own them.

The new Hitman World Of Assassination package is, however, priced at the new-normal $70 USD price, however. So folks playing Hitman 2016 and Hitman 2 will have to pay more to go all-in on Hitman.

This should be the final nail in the coffin for the World Of Assassination trilogy’s initial vision. Hitman (2016) was supposed to be continuously updated as an episodic release- a sort-of Early Access, but each new map is also a la carte. It didn’t go well.
