Forza Horizon 6 has dropped a very important image: the full map of the open world racing game. Set in Japan, the map looks set to be the densest and most vertical for the series.
But if you’re not familiar with the map design in the Forza Horizon series, here’s the thing. The roads and locations are never 1:1 recreations of the real-world, with a lot of creative liberties taken with the focus on making the roads and layout of the map fun to drive on rather than realistic. Hence it’s “Horizon Japan” rather than Japan.
Similar to past games, Forza Horizon 6 has one dense city area, Tokyo in this case, and a good spread of asphalt and dirt roads. The map doesn’t cover the entirety of Japan, but geographically speaking it’s about the same area as where real-life Tokyo is supposed to be and its surrounding area, stretching far enough to reach the alps which still snows even in summer time.
Also, if you’re expecting mountain switchbacks, there’s a couple of them including a long trail on the east side of the map.
