Here’s The Borderlands 3 Character Trailer For Amara The Siren

No ORA ORA ORA yet, though

Borderlands 3 is giving each of its playable Vault Hunters a spotlight with more lore than ever with character trailers. After Zane and Moze, it’s time for the resident Siren to take the stage: Amara.

While the previous two playable Sirens would have slotted into more of a support role when playing with other players, but Amara’s skill tree, and her personality is all about going up close and personal and dishing big damage. Her Siren abilities let her summon up to six astral hands- and at one point in the trailer, she basically sends a Stand to attack. No tragic backstory here, the lady loves a fight, and is totally comfortable with the fame of doing so.

The accompanying blog post gives an overview of her three skill trees. The Fist Of The Elements adds elemental damage to Amara’s attacks, with the action skill Phasgrasp where a giant astral hand will grab an enemy into a bubble before the hand crushes it. So you don’t need to rely on elemental weapons, you can have Amara herself to have all the elemental procs you’ll ever need.

The Mystical Assault is all about using your action skill, and this one unlocks Phasecast where Amara send her astral fists attacking whatever is in front of her. The skill tree will let you collect stacks of Rush which will be consumed on activating action skills to add buffs, and skill unlocks are mostly involved making the action skill faster, more damaging and activating it faster- ignoring cooldowns even.

The last of the three skill tree is Brawl, which focuses on melee. The action skill here is Phaseslam, a ground-pound, area-of-effect that will knock enemies in the air. Most of the skills here are either improving melee damage or improve survivability- there’s an ability that lets you skip Fight For Your Life, immediately gets a Second Wind and unleash an elemental nova though it has a really long cooldown.

Amara is the most straight-forward of the Vault Hunters so far. Expect to see FL4K the Beastmaster, the last Vault Hunter which we have not seen gameplay yet, soon.

Borderlands 3 will be out on September 13th for the PS4, PC (Epic Games Store) and Xbox One.
