It’s been three straight months that the PS Plus free games offer for active subscribers in Asia does not match the rest of the world. October and November were not liked as much by fans due to us missing some cool games.
But for December 2018, the main headliner games for the US and Europe regions don’t really have a presence here in Asia. Onrush, the cool racing game (that’s not about racing) by Codemasters was not even released over here, disappointingly. Soma, the newest horror title from the developers of Amnesia: The Dark Descent, is pretty intriguing though it too has yet been released on PS Store Asia.
Which leads to another month of different offers. But to many, it may be a better offer, suited for the region.
Gravity Rush 2 is the sequel to Gravity Rush, the gravity-defying platformer with a cool aesthetic and tone. The first game was remastered for the PS4 and was given away for free for PS Plus subscribers back in 2016.
The other is Bandai Namco’s God Eater 2. The action-RPG game may play similar to the Monster Hunter game at first glance, but its edgy stylings and interesting party members makes it stand out. The upcoming sequel, God Eater 3, will be out next year so it’s a good time to give the series a shot.
Meanwhile, the the last game on offer is Katamari Damashii no Vita (Touch My Katamari) for the Vita. Oddly enough, only the Japanese version is included in the PS Plus offering.
The lineup is definitely Japanese-centric and since the headlining titles for the other regions are more obscure, niche titles, this is a nice surprise.
All these games are now available to claim for PS Plus subscribers beginning today until January 8th, 2019.
