Gran Turismo 7 October 2024 Update Adds Three New Cars

Finally, an update. Gran Turismo 7 will receive Update 1.52 tomorrow, after two months with no content updates.

This is the usual cadence of three cars per month update, a few new races and new Scapes locations for its photo mode. Though it does expands the list of tracks available for GT Sophy, the more advanced AI only available on the PS5 version of the game.

Gran Turismo 7 October 2024 Update New Cars

It’s an all-Japan trio for this month’s additions, which may leave some fans wanting. All of them are road cars. One in particular will be met with head scratches and hopefully it’s not the van.

Gran Turismo needs more oddball cars so a Toyota Hiace van makes a lot of sense. They added an ambulance, what’s stopping developer Polyphony from adding a regular van?

The Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VIII may not be as exciting, as there’s already six of them already. But there’s 10 of them all in total, and this Evo addition it’s now only missing the Evo VII and the first two Evos.

The new Nissan GT-R is quite special for fans of Nissan’s halo car, but maybe not so much if you wanted a whole new car since the game already has a few facelifts of this already. But this is one of the few cars that are actually brand new in GT7. This is 2024 model year of the 2023 facelifted GT-R. And this could be the last of the line as production of these cars have ceased in North America.

We rarely get to see a new car in Gran Turismo- the last we had was the Afeela, and that got in due to the Sony being involved with the project.

It’s not the most exciting lineup of cars, two of them are in some ways variants of existing cars, but it is something.

The total number of cars in GT7 after Update 1.52 is now at 514 cars.

  • Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII MR GSR ’04 (Brand Central, Used Cars)
  • Nissan GT-R Premium edition T-spec ’24 (Brand Central)
  • Toyota Hiace Van DX ’16 (Brand Central)
