gamescom Asia 2023 has confirmed that this year’s event will have a physical Entertainment zone, for real this time.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, gamescom Asia since its first event in 2021 was not able to have physical B2C (business to customers) exhibition spaces. But looks like 2023 will be the year where we get back that GameStart vibes of old.
Capcom is leading the way in game publisher participation, confirming its presence at the show floor set to be held this October.
gamescom 2023’s Entertainment zone will feature “a showcase of trending games, interactive entertainment, and featured areas like indies, esports, cosplay, boardgames, group play zones, and more”.
The show floor will open from October 20-22, though for October 20, only business visitors and a limited number of pre-registered fans can be there.
There’s also an Indie Wavemakers area in the Entertainment Zone and Trade Zone (for B2B) to highlight the latest indie games and developers.
Alongside that, in partnership with Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), SEA Game Awards winners will be recognised at gamescom Asia for the first time.
gamescom Asia 2023 will continue to include more B2B events for industry players, which now includes a Content Creators Summit for “Content creators, KOLs, and influencers in gaming”.
gamescom Asia 2023 will be held on 19-22 October in Singapore. Ticket sales for the public will open later this month.
