Late Night Games’ free-to-play RPG text adventure Cyberpunkdreams will be celebrating its first anniversary on May 14. The game has you traverse a cyberpunk Cincinnati, mostly experienced through some really good writing where you be the person who you want to be in this dystopian cityscape.
The indie devs promised post-launch support for Cyberpunkdreams and to date, there have been over 80 updates ranging from bug fixes and quality-of-life changes to new mechanics, systems and storylines.
Speaking of storylines, over 400,000 words of new content have been added, bringing the game’s total word count to 2,000,000. Over 500 new pieces of artwork have been added used as moodsetters for the many locations, items, story beats and decisions you have to make.
Plus, there have been several in-game and community events hosted throughout the first year.
Cyberpunkdreams will host an in-game event starting May 14 to celebrate its first anniversary. The event will run for a week, which includes the following content (and possibly more):
- Sinzil Crimson X, the phone only previously available during the launch event will become findable again for one day only (Slightly over 1,200 players found the phone during the launch)
- A new story, “The traitor you choose”, will be available to start during the event, but with no pressure to finish it
- A new weapon to find
Late Night Games is committing to providing full support for Cyberpunkdreams in the coming months and years with more content, including a multiplayer feature, intriguingly. The devs also have plans for entirely new projects, like a graphic novel and a standalone game, set within the Cyberpunkdreams universe.
Cyberpunkdreams is worth checking out if you love reading and want to experience some cyberpunk vibes. The game has quite the RPG system and a lot of choice-making. The free-to-play aspect comes from the game having a mobile game-esque action stamina meter to limit your playtime, with some options for binge-play.
Cyberpunkdreams is out now on PC via Steam.
