Free-To-Play RPG Text Adventure Cyberpunkdreams Out Now

Would you like to explore a cyberpunk world on your own accord as a text-based RPG adventure? You might want to check out Cyberpunkdreams, out now on Steam.

This free-to-play game by Late Night Games has you explore a cyberpunk Cincinnati, doing whatever you like in this open-ended RPG.

It’s all text-based and uses a tabletop-style RPG system to keep track of skills, buffs and the like. Though the presentation is sprinkled with some fancy artwork and moody background soundtrack to get you in the mood of this cyberpunk world.

Cyberpunkdreams has over 2 million words with branching choices, so you can play your character however you want. Some small choice you make might snowball into something later down the line, the developers claim.

The way it works is that you have a finite stamina bar that is used up for most actions- as you see in most free-to-play mobile games. But, it’s not as cumbersome. You’ll get to see through the whole branch of story beat with that spent action point- at least from what we’ve tried out so far. So you won’t be left hanging because you need to wait or pay up to not leave the story beat hanging.

There is also a “binge mode” that lets gives you faster stamina regen and a boosted stamina cap for an hour. This can be activated once per week.

There are micro-transactions, but they are optional.

Cyberpunkdreams will also continue to get free updates with new content and story beats in the future. From what we’ve tried out so far, it’s looking to be an interesting text adventure to casually check in on the daily.

You can try out Cyberpunkdreams on PC via Steam.
