Fortnite Finally Enters Early Access After Six Years In Development

Game development takes time, and sometimes, longer than anyone would expect. Take for example Fortnite. The game was first revealed in 2011 developed by Epic described to be “Left 4 Dead Meets Minecraft”. Ever since the Polish team People Can Fly (Gears Of War: Judgement, Bulletstorm) has joined in the development as well. The game has been in alpha for quite some time, available to the people that opt-in and selected by the development team.

Fast forward to today, and we now have the release date.. as an Early Access title. The multiplayer fort building and horde defence game is slated to be free-to-play release next year, but on July 25 players can opt in to pay for the early access version- without the caps since it’s not referring to Steam. The game is most likely require the Epic launcher on PC.
