Foamstars, Square Enix’s upcoming foam-based team shooter, now has a release date.
Not only that, Foamstars will also be part of the PlayStation Plus Monthly Games offering, including for all PS Plus Subscribers.
Given the multiplayer nature of the game, having on the PS Plus monthly offering rather than on the PS Plus Game Catalog/Catalogue (like a few high-profile indie games have done like Stray, Tchia and Humanity) makes sense in this case. Foamstars is also a PlayStation exclusive, only coming to PS4 and PS5.
The PlayStation Blog announcing this news also confirmed the game will launch with three game modes, a Mission Mode where you can play solo or co-operatively up to 4 players, and a battle pass called referred to as a Season Pass.
Foamstars should fill in that Splatoon-shaped hole that PlayStation players may have missed out, looking at the style of shooting gameplay it provides.
Foamstars will launch on PS4 and PS4 on February 6. From February 6 to March 4, PS Plus subscribers can download and play the game for free (so long as you have an active subscription of PS Plus).
