First Snippets Of Outriders Gameplay Shown, And It’s A Third-Person Looter-Shooter

Outriders, the new “co-op shooter RPG” by People Can Fly and Square Enix, has revealed some proper gameplay on a recent livestream, alongside details on what the game is about. And by “co-op shooter RPG”, they meant a looter-shooter.

Looks like People Can Fly are channeling more of their experience on Gears Judgment rather than Bulletstorm or Painkiller. Players get to pick classes, each with three abilities based on classes.

The first class revealed is the Trickster that can put down a bubble to slow down anything within, including enemies and bullets. Trickster The next one, Devastator, can regen health by killing enemies when they are close and can do a ground pummel. The last one revealed on stream is the Pyromancer. As the name implies, it’s all about fire enemies.

In Outriders, you fight monsters and human enemies, with limb dismemberments. You can take cover, but the snippers of gameplay shown looks to be more kinetic and faster-paced than your regular cover shooters.

There is a loot system, where you buy, sell and scrap gear of various rarity. The menu is also Destiny-esque which uses a cursor.

Outriders will be out on PS4, PS5, PC (Steam), Xbox One and Xbox Series X later this year, in Holiday 2020.
