Fallout 76 is getting the delayed Wastelanders update on April 7th. This update, revealed at last year’s Bethesda E3 stage, will bring human NPCs into the Appalachia. It was supposed to come out late last year, but was delayed.
Alongside the Wastelanders update, which is free, Fallout 76 will now launch on Steam as well. The game was only available on PC via the Bethesda Launcher the past two years. That will also change.
Fallout 76 has not met with the kindest of receptions. The game was buggy at launch and barren with content. More recently, Bethesda launched a subscription pass for Fallout 76, which resulted in what can be described as class warfare, where regular players are attacking those that paid for the Fallout 1st subscription.
Would the free update change anything? Who knows. We won’t get our hopes up, but if you still have a copy of the game, April 7th is a good day to check back in and see if this multiplayer take on Fallout is any better now.
