Dyson Sphere Program Leaving Early Access In December, Adds Combat

Dyson Sphere Program, the factory-builder spanning across the galaxy by Youthcat Studio and publisher Gamera Games, will be leaving Early Access this December.

The full release will be adding combat gameplay as part of the “Rise Of The Dark Fog” free update.

Apparently, Dyson Sphere Program was always designed to have some element of combat at the start of development, and now it’s ready as the game’s full release is imminent.

The enemies here are the Dark Fog. As you grow your factory across the system, the Dark Fog also grows and will attempt to destroy your glorious automated factories. The bigger the factories, the bigger the Dark Fog forces will arrive to destroy you.

Players have to fight back by building defensive structions, and upgrading their mecha, Icarus, for combat.

The Dark Fog can also occupy an entire system ahead of you. So should you plan to expand your industry to a new system, now there’s a decision to make- try to cleanse out the Dark Fog, or just find a system free of their influence and prepare for the inevitable?

Most factory-building games have some sort of combat element to keep the ever-expanding factories in check. The granddaddy of all factory-builders, Factorio, also have one in the form of alien attacks as pollution levels increase.

Dyson Sphere Program will leave Early Access and enter version 1.0 on December 15. The game is available on PC (Steam, Microsoft Store) and is currently on PC Game Pass.
