Uh oh. When Microsoft announced the little Xbox Series S, they assured that the less powerful next-gen console should only sacrifice its target resolution (1440p rather than 4K). But it looks like one game will have some graphics detail feature to not be available on Series S.
In a new blog post on Capcom Unity, Capcom clarifies that Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition will not have ray tracing support. Ray tracing is used to make the reflections and shadows better in this stylish character action game, but it’s only limited on PS5 and Xbox Series X. Yes, not even on PC- the Special Edition is only coming to next-gen consoles.
This opens a whole topic of conversation on how much graphical compromises will we see on the Xbox Series S moving forward. Not having ray tracing here may not be a deal-breaker (for a character action game, the smooth 60fps, and even 120fps is more desirable anyway). But can we expect to see more games having similar issues?
Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition is coming to the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on the launch day of the consoles- November 12/November 19 and November 10 respectively. On PS Store Asia, it’s priced at RM164.
