Destiny 2 The Final Shape Delayed Until June 2024

Bungie has delayed the release of Destiny 2 The Final Shape from the previously state date of February 27, 2024 to June 4, 2024.

The expansion will mark the end of the current 10-year saga beginning from the original Destiny, “so we’re taking the time we need to deliver an even bigger and bolder vision”, the official post reads.

The current season of content, Season Of The Wish, will end its story beat by February as scheduled. But to fill the void now left with The Final Shape expansion’s delay, extra content will be added from February to June 2024.

This includes Wishes, a new “weekly progression-based quests”, Moments Of Triumph, the Guardian Games event in March, and a two-month content update called Destiny 2: Into The Light.

Into The Light is content that will prepare players before the events of The Final Shape takes shape.

In addition, PVP is still supported with three new maps releasing in May 2024.

Destiny 2 Season Of The Wish is now live. Specific seasonal activities require a Season Pass to access. Though this season is an extra long one since The Final Shape is delayed.

Destiny 2 is available on PS4, PS5, PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, Microsoft Store), Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. The base game is free-to-play.
