Destiny 2 Beyond Light Lets You Add Passive Augments To The New Stasis Subclasses

Destiny 2 will get a big shake-up when the Beyond Light expansion launches. Not only because of the many content getting vaulted.

Bungie has shared the first details of the new Stasis element and broke the first of three new subclasses- the Warlock Shadebinder. Stasis is the first new element outside the three Light elements of Arc, Solar and Void.

New to the Stasis subclasses are what’s called Aspects and Fragments. Aspects are cross-class items that can be slotted in and add in extra bonuses to the abilities you have equipped. One of the examples is Frostpulse, which adds a freezing shockwave whenever a Warlock casts a rift.

Each Aspect can than be slotted in with Fragments. One example is Whisper Of Bonds, which gives you more Super when defeating frozen targets, and also a penalty to your main stats. It’s a cool new passive augments system, essentially.

Subclass abilities in Destiny 2 were pretty basic, but this new passive augments you can equip gives it more customisation. More things you can tinker with. Bungie has stated that they want to make Destiny 2 more like an RPG than just a looter-shooter, and this looks like a promising new addition.

As for the Warlock Shadebinder subclass, the power of Darkness here manifests as a big staff. Warlocks can fire Statis projectiles from it- freezing them into crystals. They can follow that up with a shockwave that shatters all frozen enemies.

Bungie will share more details on the new subclasses for the Titan and Hunter soon. Destiny 2 Beyond Light expansion launches on November 10 for the PS4, PC (Steam), Xbox One and Stadia.
