Death Stranding Director’s Cut Arrives On PC March 30, Upgrade From Base Game Available

505 Games has revealed the release date for Death Stranding Director’s Cut on PC. This is the new version of Kojima Productions’ 2019 surreal courier delivery adventure that accidentally predicted a future of humans in isolation relying on delivery services.

Not only that, 505 Games has confirmed that owners of the original Death Stranding release on PC can upgrade to Director’s Cut (to get all the new content and enhancements) instead of having to buy another full-priced title again. Which is nice.

Death Stranding Director’s Cut will be priced at $39.99 USD (approx RM167), but if you have Death Stranding, the Director’s Cut upgrade is only $9.99 USD (approx RM41.87).

In fact, the publisher is also letting you know that people who have yet to get Death Stranding can make use of the Steam Lunar New Year sale to grab Death Stranding at 70% off. The US price of Death Stranding right now is $17.99, so getting the game right now plus the upgrade will cost you $27.98 USD, which is the better deal than picking up the full release.

However, at the moment, no regional price for Death Stranding Director’s Cut on PC (full game and the upgrade) has been announced. So we don’t know if buying the game now and getting the upgrade when it releases is the better deal outside the US. Your mileage may vary.

Still, it’s good to see 505 offering an upgrade path for existing owners. Considering how the original Director’s Cut released on PS5 was, a paid upgrade (not free) is inevitable, but this beats buying another full game again just for some extra graphical features and extra content.

Death Stranding Director’s Cut for PC will come out on March 30 on Steam and Epic Games Store.
