Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.0 Releases Ahead Of Phantom Liberty Expansion Release

Cyberpunk 2077 will be getting Update 2.0 a week ahead of the release of the Phantom Liberty expansion. This is a free update for the PS5, Xbox Series and PC versions of the game.

Update 2.0 will include vehicle combat, car chases and improved police AI.

Vehicle combat can mean you shooting pistols and SMGs out of a car’s window or from the back of a motorcycle. Also, you can use melee weapons on a motorcycle.

Certain nomad cars now include on-board weapons, so you can use that, turning the open-world RPG into a a vehicular combat game.

Netrunners can also hack vehicles by making them slam the brakes, break the brakes so they continuously accelerating or just make cars explode.

As for the police AI, there’s now a Heat system analogous to GTA’s famous Wanted system. At max level Heat (5 stars), Max Tac will arrive on the scene. If you’re running from the heat, expect to see roadblocks and be in hot pursuit.

The cops, miraculously, won’t accept bribes. Developers CD Projekt Red has designed the cops to be merciless when they are pursuing a target. “Don’t do crime if you can’t take the heat”, the blog post says.

Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.0 releases on September 21 for PS5, PC and Xbox Series X|S. Updates for PS4 and Xbox One versions have ceased since the 1.5 update.

Cyberpunk 2077 will receive its one and only expansion, Phantom Liberty, on September 26.
