Borderlands 4 Releases This September, More Details In Upcoming Dedicated State Of Play

Borderlands 4 has a release date. The next entry to Gearbox Software’s looter-shooter is brave to stake a date on a release date at the far reaches of 2025, where another big game under the bigger Take-Two umbrella is likely to release.

At the February 2025 State Of Play broadcast, a short snippet of gameplay for Borderlands 4 was shown.

Some glimpses of Vault Hunter abilities, Tediore guns still reloading by throwing the whole gun away to digistruct another with full clip, psychos explode in blood upon death and just a bit of the new movement capabilities. You can grapple onto things to jump up and rain down heavy fear down below.

Fascinatingly, an entire State Of Play broadcast dedicated to Borderlands 4 will be coming later this Spring (Q2). Looks like Borderlands 4 is being heavily marketed by PlayStation and not by Epic Games. Borderlands 3 and the spin-off Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands were associated with Epic Games during their lead-up to release as part of the Epic Games Store push.

Borderlands 4 will see the game going to a whole new planet in the form of Kairos, and play as one of the four new Vault Hunters.

Borderlands 4 will be out on September 23 for the PS5, PC (Steam, Epic Games Store) and Xbox Series X|S.
