Borderlands 3 is still chugging. For 2020, Gearbox Software has outlined a few points as its roadmap of changes and addition to the solid looter-shooter.
For one, you can expect a level cap increase. The plan is to bump the level cap from 50 to 53- three extra skill points to set your builds. Not as major as the usual 10 or 12 level increments, but the better news is that all level cap increases are free. No DLC purchases required.
In addition, Gearbox promises that game performance is still being worked on. Expect another UI improvement with the release of the second campaign DLC. The first one, Moxxi’s Heist Of The Handsome Jackpot, is out now.
Borderlands 3 will also be getting skippable cutscenes, for good reasons, and a way to toggle off events. Events like the Bloody Harvest has a game-wide effect applied to it, and should you consider wanting to just play the normal game during the event, there should be a toggle for it coming soon.
The game will also see a rework on Mayhem mode dubbed Mayhem 2.0 for endgame players. Also for the endgame is True Takedown mode. The Takedown at Maliwan Blacksite now scales to party size permanently, but there will be a harder difficulty that is intended solely for a four-person squad to tackle.
Lastly, expect more stuff being added to the Twitch extension, and a new philosophy to balance changes- we should see more buffs than nerfs. Hooray!
Borderlands 3 will also be getting a Valentine’s Day equivalent event- Broken Hearts Day, coming soon.
It’s all good stuff for Borderlands fans. If you haven’t checked it out yet, our review of Borderlands 3 can be found here.
