Borderlands 3’s next and final DLC as part of Season Pass 2 is the Director’s Cut DLC. One of its new content being added has been revealed, and it’s a new in-game resource: Diamond Keys.
This is like Gold Keys, the ones you can use to open a chest full of high-rarity loot according to your level. These Diamond Keys will open a new room within the hub, Sanctuary III, which has a whole room full of loot.
Diamond Keys are earned only by completing Vault Cards, a new feature only available with the Director’s Cut DLC. This effectively adds dailies and weeklies to the looter-shooter, which is known for not having live service elements and such do not come standard with dailies and weekly challenges.
The Diamond Keys are rare drops though, and when they drop, opening the room is an event itself. You have a room full of shiny loot, but the catch is that you have a limited time to pick one loot from each three walls (each housing only shields, weapons and grenades). If time runs out, you’ll get a random selection of loot from the wall which you did not pick. After that, you will get one more loot- and it’s a guaranteed Legendary.
For those that love the grind, these Vault Cards won’t have a level cap, and can be continuously completed. So there’s always something to aim and achieve with this new piece of content coming to the Director’s Cut DLC.
The Director’s Cut DLC for Borderlands 3 will be released on April 9 in Asia for the PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. It’s also available as part of the Season 2 Pass, which includes the Designer’s Cut DLC.
