Beat-‘Em-Up Game Streets Of Rage 4 Out Now

Streets Of Rage 4, the sequel to Sega’s long-dormant beat-’em-up franchise, is out now.

This is a DotEmu joint, the publisher specialising in bringing old or obscure IPs to life, like Windjammers. DotEmu worked together with Lizardcube (the team behind the beautiful Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap remake) and Guard Crush Games (Streets Of Fury) for the Streets Of Rage 4.

Streets Of Rage 4 continues the storyline of the series, set 10 years after the events of Streets Of Rage 3. Axel, Blaze, and Adam return as playable characters, together with newcomers Cherry and Floyd.

The game supports offline couch-co-op multiplayer (as it should) as well as online. And it also has a PvP Battle Mode so you can play it like a fighting game, as well as a Boss rush mode.

The gorgeous hand-drawn graphics are married with a soundtrack led by composer Olivier Derivière that includes contributions of Yūzō Koshiro and Motohiro Kawashima, composers of past Street Of Rage games.

Streets Of Rage 4 is out now on PS4, PC (Steam), Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. It’s also available on Xbox Game Pass For Console and For PC. On PS Store Asia, it’s sold under its Japanese name: Bare Knuckle IV.
