505 Games and Kunos Simulazioni have now opened a Steam page for Assetto Corsa Evo, the new entry to the sim racing game series recently teased and announced.
The Steam page features new, likely in-game screenshots showing a selection of cars and tracks.
As for the cars, there’s a range of old and new. From the modern Alfa Romeo Giulia GTAm to a classic Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA. There are also Porsche 911s (one is a third-gen 964 and the other the new 911 GT3 RS from the latest 992 generation). A Mercedes-Benz 190E, a Hyundai i20, a Hyundai N Vision 74 (the retro-modern EV concept that was recently featured in Forza Horizon 5), an Alpine A110 and curiously, a new Alpine A290.
All these shots are zoomed in, highlighting various parts of the cars in particular the headlights, brake lights and interior. Kunos is flexing some graphics fidelity with these screenshots.
There are also screenshots of tracks as well, two of them likely being of Monza and the Nürburgring Nordschleife.
Assetto Corsa Evo will be more like the original Assetto Corsa than it is with Assetto Corsa Competizione, which only focuses on race cars and race tracks as featured in the GT World Challenge series. It will feature road cars, classic cars, hypercars as well as race cars with the realistic simulation expected from the series.
Tracks are also laserscanned, ensuring the geometry is accurate to the real life equivalent (at the date the track is scanned, that is).
Though expect some “surprises” yet to be revealed. The press release teased them as features that “will enable racers to experience living and sharing their passion for cars, driving and racing.”
There’s still no release date for Assetto Corsa Evo. At least we now know it’s coming to PC (Steam).
